The MetaMizer 240SSS includes a vacuum system: prior to sterilisation a vacuum is pulled on the pressure vessel, lowering the inlet chamber pressure. This is to aid in the transfer of heat from the steam to the waste.
Then, at the end of the sterilisation cycle, at pressure vessel blow-down another vacuum is pulled to remove as much moisture from the waste as possible. This process increases the cycle time, but results in drier waste.
Our recent improvements have enabled these vacuum cycles to be optional. Without these vacuum cycles, the sterilisation process is quicker, but results in the output waste being slightly moister.
This setting can be changed by MetaMizer Service Technicians, enabling greater flexibility and control over the process for our MetaMizer customers.
